Just saw your concert at the Gold Coast Center. You were wonderful a usual! You have a voice that can only be described as a musical instrument that time and care has advanced to perfection. But even more special than your talent is your personality. One can be born with the gift of an exceptional voice but only you can develope the special person within you, and you have done that well. As I sat there I kept wondering "why can't I meet someone like her". It seems so difficult to meet a truly nice person. How does one take the first step? Wish you had a computer to receive emails. Hello Dale. You probably don't remember me, but I first met you at a Pasadena Mall signing with children for your promoting of Sound of Music about 4 or 5 years ago. You gave me a couple of autographs - 1 for me & 1 for my kids. (HA, they're all grown up ow.) Anyway, I have been pretty busy with some move & starting up business -so I haven't had a chance to follow your career as much as I would've liked. Dear Dale, While netbrowsing to find out where in the USA POTO might be playing (activities-planning for a hoped-for visitor from overseas), guess whose web page should pop up? As of this writing, I don't know if I'll ever see you again, as my destiny (building wat r supply systems) seems likely to take me permanently over the hills and far away. So I just thought I'd say a few things here, instead, on the presumption that someday you might read it. (Did I ever tell you that I designed the 8" ductile iron water mai on our street that was installed back in 1991? It was part of that big L.A. County street reconstruction project, and even has my Professional Civil Engineer's stamp on it. My drafter was Ken Filigheri, the young man who was PSD's first Employee of the Month back when they started the program; you may recall reading about how a coworker ran over his motorbike and killed him less than 2 blocks from PSD, shortly after he had passed his CA State Land Surveyor's examination, and before his only child, Eliss , was even one year old. Not surprisingly, the water main on our street has a very special meaning for me.) Do you remember early last decade, after one of your L.A. performances, that bearded bald guy who followed you to your 4Runner and told you that you sang like an angel, and that you actually elicited tears from him with one of your songs? (It was "Wishin You Were Somehow Here Again?") Well, that guy was me. You could not have recognized me the next time we met, because the beard was history about the same time my marriage was. When I bought the foreclosure across the street from you, not having a clue at the time that you lived nearby, I thought what a great fringe benefit...to be able to hear you practice your singing...yet in 4 years (minus 6 months, for course) I have only heard you twice! I concluded that you must either have a sound-proof room, o a voice instructor at whose studio you practice. Either way, it was disappointing, very disappointing, not to hear your voice wafting through our quiet canyon, and over to my side of the street, on a regular basis. It would appear that you are consider te of others TO A FAULT! My proclivity for playing my stereo too loud and too late, even with all doors and windows closed, has sufficiently annoyed at least one neighbor enough to cause her (him?) to call the local constabulary and request relief. On the presumption that you ma have also been one of those so annoyed, I would like to apologize. I hope my practice of mixing equal portions of Loreena McKennitt with AC/DC tended to lessen the aggravation. What are six Bose speakers for, anyway? Shannon went on to become Honored Queen of her Job Daughters Bethel, praise God. Of course, now she is Past Honored Queen. I had told her I thought that the leadership skills she would gain were more important than what she would gain by graduating from high school. I guess she took it too much to heart. Having told one too many H.S. principals to go f*** themselves, she is now in "continuation school," typically doing 12 week segments in 2 weeks. Her 163 I.Q. is still showing itself; last time I saw er, she even used a "big" word for which I didn't know the meaning! She still hasn't resolved her biggest problem, however. Last year her brother Ryan, out of the blue, told me she was a "compulsive liar." (No S***!) Sadly, I had to remind him that the appropriate adjective wasn't "compulsive," it was "pathological." In case you may have heard it also, perhaps you'd be interested in her most harmless one, told to Katherine two doors up at 711 CCDr: "She had an older sister who was killed on a motorcycl accident." The closest thing she ever had to an older sister was two miscarriages, of indeterminate sex. She's planning on marrying her boyfriend as soon she turns 18, obviously to get away from her control-freak mother. She calls up periodically to t ll me how miserable she is, and has admitted that her happiest times as a teenager were when she lived here on CCDr. She'd be designing Web Pages by now, if she'd stayed here. (She lost her freedom of choice in 1997, to her own ever-lasting regret.) Now her life seems to be one protracted cat-fight: her mother refuses to let her buy "slut shoes" for herself, she counterattacks by coming home with a pierced tongue! I love our biannual visits, when she sneaks over with a "responsible adult," and tell me her war stories! Since she must be at least 60 IQ points higher than her mother, these always sound less like a "battle of wits" and more like "parent abuse." In that respect, she certainly IS my daughter! Ryan has turned out very well, considering some shakey beginnings, with the law, as a teenager. Eagle Scout. Stayed away from dope. Senior in Business/Economics at Loyola-Marymount University. He has been an incredible rock of support and loyalty thro gh the worst of times, and is a source of tremendous pride. I can hardly speak of him these days without getting teary-eyed. In closing, I would just like to wish you the best in your career, and say that I regret not being able to be a better neighbor (Well, I TOLD you I wasn't "your average engineer!" By the way, did your dad ever finish that book on BMEWS?) Sincerely, Ross

WebMaster: Really enjoy seeing Dale perform; consider it THE HIGHLIGHT of each year. See her here in SoCal at the Orange Coast College. Please pass along to her that she has a HUGE repeat audience and that many of us would really appreciate it if she would branch out more away from AndrewLloydWeber to include other great composers of similar ilk, e.g., Rogers, Hammerstein, ColePorter, Gil ert&Sullivan, Gershwin, Bachracck(sp?). She has such a GREAT voice that it seems the be a bit wasted by her concentrating so much on one composer, and her audiences are a little tiring of hearing the same stuff over and over. Also, there are likely a LOT of potential audiences in the SantaBarbara area that would enjoy her. Looking forward to next year as always... Thanks,, /s/ Hugh

Hello again, Dale. I am a part of the Loyola Marymount University Consort Singers and sang at the concerts in Vegas, Phoenix, Concord, Shoreline, Irvine, and Hollywood Bowl, along with the PBS special (I'm the one in the center behind the drums ). I wanted to let you know that when I was first told that the choir had the opportunity to sing back-up for Michael's PBS special, I wasn't sure I wanted to do it. See, singing in concerts in our little chapel isn't such a big deal, but an audience of housands scared me half to death. What finally convinced me to sing in the show wasn't the fact that it was a chance to sing backup for Michael Crawford (although I will admit that was a big part of it). No, what finally cinched it was that I would get t see you sing again. The first three times I saw Phantom, you were Christine, and my thoughts were "Wow! I wish I could sing like that!" On the concert tour, I got the lucky seat on the choir risers. I was the only one who could see the whole show, as I wasn't sitting behind that wall thing in front of us. I sat there and watched, and I must say the Phantom portions, especially "All I ask of You" and "Think of Me" completely captivated me no matter how many times I watched. You're not only Los Angeles original and only Christine, you're Phantom's best Christine, and I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to share a stage with you a those seven concerts. Let me know when you perform again in California. I'll certainly be there watching. Thanks again for the awesome experience.
